Maslow’s Need Hierarchy Theory of Motivation

 1. Motivation process is based on human needs Maslow’s Need Hierarchy Theory of Motivation 1. Basic / Physiological Needs: It is nothing but satisfying the basic needs like food, clothing, shelter, etc. When this need is satisfied, he thinks for the next level of need. Example: Basic salary helps to satisfy this need. 2. Safety / Security Needs: These needs provide security and protection from physical and emotional harms. Example: Job security, pension plans, insurance, stable income. 3. Affiliation / Belongingness Needs : These needs relate to affection, belongingness, acceptableness, friendship, etc. 4. Esteem Needs: These needs include factors like self-respect, status, recognition, and attention. 5. Self-Actualisation Needs: It is the highest level of need in hierarchy.
